11-25-2014 U.S. District Court Judge Kristine Baker struck down Arkansas’ gay marriage band. She ruled in favor of two same-sex couples that argued that the ban violated the U.S. Constitution and discriminated based on sexual orientation.

11-25-2014 U.S. District Court Judge Carlton Reeves overturns Mississippi’s ban on same-sex marriage. The plaintiff’s attorney was Roberta Kaplan. Kaplan represented Edie Windsor before the Supreme Court regarding DOMA and had it overturned. It allowed same-sex couples the same federal rights as straight couples.
