10-10-2013   The Harvey Milk Foundation confirmed that the U.S. Postal Service would honor gay rights activist Harvey Milk with a stamp in honor of his memory and legacy. He will be the first openly LGBT political official to be featured on a postage stamp.

10-10-2104   The first marriage license is issued to a gay couple in Kansas. This came two days later after Chief Judge Kevin Moriarty directed clerks and other judges to begin issuing licenses to same-sex couples.

10-10-2014   On this day U.S. District Court Judge Max O. Cogburn, Jr. struck down North Carolina’s gay marriage ban, opening the way for same-sex marriages in the state to begin immediately.

10-10-2014   The Supreme Court lifts hold on same-sex wedding in Idaho. The court issued an order removing the last legal obstacle keeping gay and lesbian couples from getting married.
